Well, the A-Team is home again. I am finally updating the blog. For those of you who have been following this, our last update had us still in Oklahoma. After several trips back and forth to Tulsa at 10:00 pm Wednesday we were back underway. There was not enough time to catch up at Virginia so we headed to Beaver Run Pennsylvania. We arrived there at about 1:00 am Friday. Managed to have a pretty good day of racing at Beaver Run and actually got some points on the board. Then it was off to passa…

Howdy all,
One Lap number 8 is officially in the books! We placed second in class behind the very fast BMW 135 and ahead of the VW GTI of Reg and Bill. This was probably one of the best One Laps I have been a part of. Not because of the organization or scoring, as there were a few issues, but because of the great people participating in the event. We were able to spend time with old friends and left with many new friends.
The competition in our class was very tight between 2nd, 3rd and 4th. We…

Well, its over. The 2008 The Tire Rack One Lap of America has come to an end, and class and overall champions have been named. The Boxer4Racing/Continental Tire team finished 1st in class after a week long battle with the SRT4 of Doug Wind and Devin Clancy (last years mid-price winner and 5th overall). They also finished in the 10th position overall, making it two years in a row they finished in the top 10! Another personal goal of Steven Rankins was to beat the Nissan GTR, and he did just that…

We are almost done with Greg's 9th and my 8th One Lap! We are still talking to each other, although we do still have to make it through the day, the car is in one piece, we had no DNF's, and we are more than likely going to finish 2nd in class. All in all not a bad week. Our worst finish was 33rd and best 18th, although we don't have the results from the Autocross, which I am hoping might give us a better result.
Greg drove the two road course events and I did the autocross at BeaveRun. Greg di…

BeaveRun, the site of our last time trial event. The morning session went fine, but we got 2nd in class behind the SRT4 with Doug at the wheel. The afternoon session went a bit better, we only came in 2nd by a tenth of a second, so not too bad.
Having lost both time trials we were now tied for first with the SRT4 of Doug Wind and Devin Clancy. So the heat was on as it came time for the autocross.
Rankins drove very well, and by the time we left he was 3rd overall at the autocross, but I'm not…

VIR, one of the most beautiful tracks in the world, was our next stop on the One Lap of America. We ran very well thanks to some wet weather. The first session went from wet to damp, to dry, and we were able to get the 7th fastest time overall and first in class on the South Course. The 2nd session, this time on the North Course went very well! We took the 4th fastest time overall, and first in class again! The 3rd session went ok, we were 2nd in class, and im not sure about the overall position…

Woo-hoo! Word from Godzilla is that was one fun little track! Steven was in the same group as our main competition, the SRT4 with Devin at the wheel, and Devin spun and caused a red flag, which gives him a DNF. Sucks for him, but awesome for us! He gets zero points, and I believe won the class then. I will update when results become available

Well today went much better for us than yesterday! Steven drove well, and won the first session by only .04x over Doug Wind in the Neon on the "old course." In the afternoon session Steven drove even better on the "New Course" and won by around 4 seconds, again over Doug Wind in the Neon.
After the first session we noticed the left front caliper's outside bleeder valve was seeping fluid. We bled the brakes and re-tightened all the valves and I took it out to test it, but it didnt fix it. So we…

We finally made it to the hotel in S. Carolina. It was a long drive after a long day at the track at No Problem Raceway. Things went well in the morning and we finished 26th overall and 2nd in class. In the afternoon things weren't so good as I forgot to turn off the traction control and it really slowed me down! They decided to run the low ET Drag race that we missed in Texas and Greg ran a 14.199 at 101mph. This was enough to put us 2nd in class!!
Greg is driving tomorrow and we are hoping fo…

Someone left a heap of black jackets and fleeces on one of our folding chairs late today. We had to pack up and go, and no one else was left in the area so we threw them in the trunk rather than leave them on the ground, since we figured the owners had probably already left the track. If they're yours, get in touch with the Boxer4Racing team.

We are still here in Blackwell OK. The good news is the parts we need have been fed ex'd to us. We pick them up tomorrow morning at the Tulsa airport. Gary at Bobs's transmission in Ponca City Ok. is pulling out the bad parts as I write this. The next time you are in Ponca City stop and say Hi to Gary and his crew they have been an incredible help to us while here. It looks like we will be back on the road tommorow morning and heading out for Virginia to get back in this thing. Hello to everyone…

Yes, I had a nice Prime Rib for dinner, and was actually able to eat sitting on something that wasn't moving 80 mph! It was very nice and was thanks to the rain we had all day in Texas. The Drag races were canceled and we left Texas World Speedway early enough for us to actually get more than 3 hours of sleep in a bed! We figured it was worth sacrificing one hour of sleep for a nice meal.
Today was a pretty good day for us. Greg placed 18th in the morning session and then 21st in the afternoon…

Hey there,
we just drove in to Texas, which means we have about 240 miles to go. We are scheduled to arrive at 1:39am.
We received our daily update and it looks like Greg has decided to make things interesting. We think he took out a cone and received a 10 second penalty. That put us 33rd in the afternoon session and 29th overall. Unfortunately that was a step in the wrong direction for us. Oh well life goes on, tomorrow is a new day and, in class, we are basically right where we started this m…

Well after 4 hours of sleep in what was probably the only hotel with rooms left near Omaha thanks to Warren Buffet, we headed towards MAM.
We got to MAM and I went to bleed the brakes, while Rankins did some last minute weight reduction, and I noticed our left front rotor was split in two! Both sides of the rotor had a 1/4 crack all the way through and you could see light through it. So we put two spare rotors on the front, bled the brakes, and I took the car out to bed the pads/rotors in. Rank…

Hello,
I am sitting in the car, out of the wind, writing this while we wait for the second session to start. Everyone is anxious to get on the road to Texas. It is a long 800+ mile drive and the sooner we get going the more sleep we will get.
Yesterday went fairly well, Greg placed 29th in the skid pad and I was 33rd at Road America. And Greg just came over to tell me we placed 26th in the morning session here at MAM. This puts us in a tie for 3rd in class 5 points behind second place! We were…
